Why We Are Different
Foum Zguid Desert Tour & Camel Trekking with Real Berber Nomads
Embark on an unforgettable Foum Zguid Desert Tour & Camel Trekking adventure, guided by real Berber nomads born and raised in the heart of the Sahara Desert. At Bivouac Les Nomades, we don’t just offer tours — we open our lives and traditions to you. From the moment you arrive, you’re more than a visitor; you become part of our extended desert family.
Our team, all locals from the Foum Zguid region near Lake Iriki and the golden dunes of Erg Chegaga, offers more than just hospitality. We believe in real human connection. Whether we’re sharing stories, enjoying traditional meals, or gathering around the campfire, every moment deepens the bond between host and guest. Many travelers arrive as strangers and leave as lifelong friends.
As a certified Berber guide still living the nomadic life, I bring you the Sahara as only an insider can. My experience goes far beyond what any guidebook can offer — this is the true spirit of Morocco’s desert.
We are a Local Berber Nomades Family Business:

ch. Embracing Our Planet, Wildlife, and Communities
The Planet is responsibility of each individual:
At Bivouac Les Nomades Big family, our commitment to sustainability runs deep. Our camps are powered solely by renewable energy sources, especially solar power. This conscious decision not only reduces our carbon footprint but also preserves the natural beauty of our planet for future generations. When you choose Bivouac Les Nomades, you’re not just embarking on a journey; you’re actively participating in the preservation of our Earth’s precious resources.
Protecting Wildlife & Educating Nomadic Youth
As a Berber family deeply connected to the desert, we cherish our wildlife and natural habitats. We’re dedicated to safeguarding these treasures through education and community involvement. By working closely with local residents, we promote awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation. Together, we strive to ensure that our beloved wildlife thrives alongside responsible tourism practices. Your journey with Top Desert directly supports these efforts, ensuring that our natural heritage remains intact and vibrant.
Empowering Nomadic Children Through Education
Beyond tourism, we are committed to empowering nomadic communities through education initiatives. We believe that education is the cornerstone of progress and opportunity. By supporting programs that provide educational resources and opportunities to nomadic children, we aim to break down barriers and create pathways for a brighter future. Your involvement with bivouac les Nomades contributes directly to these initiatives, making a lasting impact on the lives of nomadic families.
Eco-Friendly Desert Travel That Supports Local Life
Sustainable Energy, Real Impact
By enabling nomad families to benefit from stable income and integrating local sourcing into our tours and camps, we support local economies but also promoting cultural preservation and environmental sustainability. Collaborating with like-minded organizations further enhances our impact by creating job opportunities and income streams. This approach not only enriches travelers’ experiences but also ensures that tourism contributes positively to the communities it engages with. We are proud to announce that we have more than 20 family that work with us together from different places in Morocco, so we are sure that the tourism we are making is helping the locals especially the Nomades since life in the desert is not easy but yet beautiful and happy, and because there is no much chances of work in the sahara and even the climate change doesn’t help , and the situation with the dromadaires and goats get harder and harder. So this is why we think at bivouac les Nomades that it is urgent to think of an other solution to keep the nomadic life. The tourism could be the best saver, since the nomades will have an other source of life to support the family and bring food for the herds.
