Trekking from Ouzoud to Lac Ifni – 7 Days Adventure Itinerary
Day 1: Ouzoud Waterfalls – Aït Bouguemez Valley (1,750 m)
After breakfast, enjoy one last view of the waterfalls before departing towards the “Happy Valley” of Aït Bouguemez. The drive takes around 4 hours through scenic mountain roads and small Berber villages.
Afternoon walk around the valley to stretch your legs and acclimatize.
Overnight in a local guesthouse.
Day 2: Aït Bouguemez – Tizi n’Aït Imi Pass – Tarkeddid Refuge (2,900 m)
Early start for a challenging ascent through juniper forests to the Tizi n’Aït Imi Pass (2,910 m), offering panoramic views of M’Goun range. Descend to the Tarkeddid plateau and settle near the refuge.
6–7 hours of trekking.
Night in mountain refuge.
Day 3: Tarkeddid – M’Goun Summit (4,068 m) – Oulilimt Valley
A long but rewarding day! Climb to the summit of M’Goun, the second-highest peak in North Africa, then descend to the wild Oulilimt valley. Stunning views of the southern Atlas ridges.
8–9 hours trekking.
Camping in Oulilimt Valley.
Day 4: Oulilimt – Amezri Village
Trek down through beautiful landscapes dotted with nomadic camps. Pass through small Berber hamlets until you reach Amezri, known for its terraced fields.
5–6 hours trekking.
Guesthouse or homestay.
Day 5: Amezri – Tizi n’Ourai Pass – Tifnout Valley
Climb over the Tizi n’Ourai Pass (3,100 m) with views of Mount Toubkal in the distance, then descend into the remote Tifnout Valley.
6 hours trekking.
Camp near the village of Amsouzart.
Day 6: Amsouzart – Lac Ifni (2,320 m)
A shorter but steep trek to reach the emerald-green Lake Ifni, hidden between rocky ridges. Spend the afternoon relaxing, swimming (weather permitting), or exploring the lakeshore.
3–4 hours trekking.
Camp by the lake.
Day 7: Lac Ifni – Tizi n’Ouanoums Pass – Imlil – Marrakech
Early morning departure for a climb over Tizi n’Ouanoums Pass (3,680 m). Continue the descent to Imlil, where the trek ends. Transfer to Marrakech.
7–8 hours trekking.
Drive 1.5 hours to Marrakech.
