Your Morocco desert adventure begins in Marrakech, with optional pickups available from Agadir or other cities. Upon arrival in Zagora, a 4×4 will drive you to the Lghoula Pass, the only route through the Jebel Bani Mountains. After crossing the scenic Elfayja desert plateau, settle into your first desert camp near ancient rock painting sites. Enjoy dinner and stargazing in the peaceful surroundings.
After breakfast, continue your camel trek through the Sahara, heading south across expansive valleys and sandy terrain. Eventually, you’ll reach Zawiat Elmhasser, a secluded oasis lined with palm trees. This tranquil spot offers the perfect place to unwind and soak in the serenity of the desert.
On Day 3, you’ll reach the highlight of your desert trek: the natural water pool of Guelta Elmsafi. Take a dip in its refreshing waters, surrounded by rugged desert mountains.
Later, explore ancient nomadic ruins and visit the ghost town of Mefes, a former mining village swallowed by sand.
Then, immerse yourself in traditional Berber life with a visit to a local family. Learn about their customs, enjoy a tea ceremony, and experience their warm hospitality. Your final day begins with a farewell to your camel caravan. Then, a 4×4 will take you across the shimmering salt flats of Lake Iriki and through volcanic tajine-shaped mountains. Arrive in Foum Zguid, where you’ll board a minibus for a scenic return to Marrakech, ending your Sahara desert tour on a high note.
