This exceptional 5 days trek takes you through the volcanic massif of Jbel Saghro , between the Draa and Dades valleys .
Departure from the charming village of Nkob , famous for its kasbahs and palm groves, to reach Boumalne Dades , at the gateway to the High Atlas.
The Saghro massif, still little known, reveals spectacular landscapes: lunar plateaus, deep gorges, rocky peaks and isolated Berber villages .
It is an ideal adventure between the Atlas and the desert , to discover a wild region inhabited by the Aït Atta nomads , guardians of an ancestral culture.
Jbel Saghro Trek – 5 Days from Nkob to Boumalne Dades
Day 1: Nkob – Bab N’Ali (1500 m)
Departure from Nkob with the local team of muleteers. The hike begins gently through desert plateaus and arid valleys .
Arrival at Bab N’Ali , a spectacular rock formation formed by two giant natural towers, symbol of Saghro.
Installation of the bivouac at the foot of the needles.
Dinner and night in a tent.
5 hours of walking.
Day 2: Bab N’Ali – Igli (1700 m)
Departure to Igli , a superb plateau surrounded by volcanic peaks and deep valleys.
On the way, discover nomadic camps and the typical landscapes of the massif: black rocks, dried-up wadis and solitary acacias .
Set up camp in Igli.
Dinner and overnight in a tent.
5 to 6 hours of walking.
Day 3: Igli – Kouaouch (2600 m) – Tazazert (1900 m)
The most spectacular stage of the trek!
Ascent of the Kouaouch pass (2600 m) , the highest point of the Saghro massif, offering a panoramic view of the Atlas and the desert.
Gradual descent towards Tazazert , a hilltop village surrounded by amazing rock formations.
Dinner and overnight at the bivouac in Tazazert.
6 to 7 hours of walking.
Day 4: Tazazert – Tizi N’Tazazert Pass – Tifdassine
Early departure to the Tizi N’Tazazert pass (2200 m) , a legendary passage between the Saghro valleys.
Magnificent panorama of the High Atlas to the north and the desert to the south.
Descent to Tifdassine , a small, typical Berber village.
Dinner and overnight in a tent.
5 hours of walking.
Day 5: Tifdassine – Dades Valley – Boumalne Dades
Last day of trekking through the Berber villages and terraced crops of the Dades Valley.
Arrival in Boumalne Dades , end of the trek and meeting with the driver for the transfer to Ouarzazate or Marrakech.
