Bivouac Les Nomades

Trek de 5 jours à travers le massif du Jbel Saghro

5 days Trek through the Jbel Saghro massif

This 5 days trek through the Jbel Saghro massif is a magnificent crossing between the High Atlas and the first valleys of the desert .
Departure from Boumalne Dadès and arrival in Nkob , a typical Berber village surrounded by kasbahs and palm groves.
The Saghro massif, a true mineral jewel of southern Morocco, offers landscapes of raw beauty: volcanic plateaus, deep gorges, sharp peaks and arid valleys where Aït Atta nomads still live .

It is an ideal trek in winter or spring, combining cultural encounters, gentle walking and a total change of scenery .

Day 1: Boumalne Dadès – Ighil N’Ougmar (1600 m) – Tifdassine (1800 m)

Welcome to Boumalne Dadès and meet your team of muleteers. Start of the trek through the Dadès valley , its Berber villages and its colorful rock formations.
Gradual climb to Ighil N’Ougmar , then continue to Tifdassine , a peaceful hamlet in the heart of the mountains.
Dinner and overnight in a tent.
5 to 6 hours of walking.

Day 2: Tifdassine – Col de Tizi N’Tazazert (2200 m) – Tazazert (1900 m)

Early morning departure for the ascent of the Tizi N’Tazazert pass , offering a panoramic view of the Saghro mountains and the surrounding valleys.
Descent to the village of Tazazert , located in a typical environment of southern Morocco: arid hills, rocky peaks and sparse vegetation.
Dinner and overnight in a tent in Tazazert.
5 to 6 hours of walking.

Day 3: Tazazert – Kouaouch (2600 m) – Igli (1700 m)

Hike through lunar landscapes and climb the Kouaouch pass , the highest point of the Saghro massif.
From the summit, superb view of the Atlas to the north and the desert to the south. Descent to the magnificent Igli plateau , surrounded by peaks of red and black lava.
Night in a tent in Igli.
6 to 7 hours of walking.

Day 4: Igli – Bab N’Ali (1500 m)

Emblematic stage of the trek! You reach Bab N’Ali , two impressive rock towers symbolic of the Saghro, forming a majestic natural gateway.
The landscapes become more desert-like, dotted with acacias and small dried-up wadis.
Set up camp at the foot of the Bab N’Ali needles.
Dinner and overnight in a tent.
5 hours of walking.

Day 5: Bab N’Ali – Nkob (1050 m)

Last day of walking through desert plateaus and valleys before reaching Nkob , a charming village surrounded by palm groves and 45 traditional kasbahs
. Lunch on site before the transfer to Tazzarine or Ouarzazate depending on the organization.
End of the trek and our services.
4 to 5 hours of walking.
