2 Days 1 Night – Foum Zguid to Erg Chegaga Remote Desert Camp
Day 1 – Foum Zguid → Paris–Dakar piste → El Agermia Oasis → Lake Iriki → Erg Chegaga
Your journey starts at 09:00 in Foum Zguid, where your guide welcomes you and helps you park your car safely. You then board a comfortable 4×4 and leave the paved road behind, driving along the famous Paris–Dakar piste. Your first stop is the impressive Tajine Mountains, known for their unique rock formations and wide desert views. You continue deeper into the desert to reach El Agermia Oasis, a peaceful place with palm trees and natural shade. Here, you enjoy a traditional lunch and take time to relax before continuing the adventure.
In the afternoon, you visit ancient fossils and meet local nomads, who still live in traditional tents and follow their ancestral way of life. This moment gives you a real insight into the culture of the Sahara and its people.
Next, you cross the immense dry lake of Iriki, a breathtaking lunar landscape stretching to the horizon. As the dunes rise ahead of you, the 4×4 climbs gently into the remote side of Erg Chegaga, reaching your authentic Berber camp in the late afternoon.
Your camp is located far from the busy tourist areas, in a place where you will see nothing but golden dunes, open sky, complete silence, and the pure tranquility of the Sahara.
After sunset, enjoy a traditional dinner, followed by music and a campfire under a sky full of stars—an unforgettable desert night.
Day 2 – Erg Chegaga → Sidi Abd Enbi Ksar → Zawiat Oasis → Foum Zguid
After a peaceful night in the dunes, wake up to the soft colors of sunrise and enjoy breakfast at the camp.
On the return journey, you visit the ancient Ksar of Sidi Abd Enbi, a historic fortified village, and continue toward the beautiful Zawiat Oasis, another living example of traditional desert life.
By late morning or early afternoon, you arrive back in Foum Zguid, where your car will be waiting for you.
Your tour ends with memories of one of the last truly wild Sahara regions.
