Itinerary: Toubkal Trek 3 Days from Marrakech
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil (1,740 m) – Tizi Mzik – Azib Tamsoult (2,250 m)
Depart early in the morning from Marrakech for the village of Imlil, the starting point of the trek. You will meet your mountain guide and team of muleteers.
The hike begins with a gentle climb to the Tizi Mzik Pass (2,660 m), offering breathtaking views of the Imlil Valley.
You will then continue walking through mountain landscapes to Azib Tamsoult, home to the summer sheepfolds of local herders.
Dinner and overnight at the mountain refuge or lodge in Tamsoult.
A 5-6 hour walk.
Day 2: Azib Tamsoult – Col d’Aguelzim (3,560 m) – Toubkal Refuge (3,206 m)
After breakfast, you’ll begin a steady climb to the Aguelzim Pass, one of the most spectacular passages in the High Atlas.
From the summit of the pass, enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
Then, descend to the Toubkal Refuge, located at the foot of the summit.
Dinner and overnight at the refuge.
A 6- to 7-hour walk.
Day 3: Ascent of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m) – Return to Imlil – Marrakech
Depart very early in the morning to climb Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. The ascent takes approximately 3 to 4 hours.
Once at the summit, enjoy a spectacular view of the entire Atlas Mountains and the Haouz plains.
After a moment of contemplation, return to the refuge for breakfast, then descend to Imlil where your driver will await you for the return trip to Marrakech.
8 to 9 hours of walking in total.
The trek ends in the late afternoon.
