Departure from M’hamid (morning)
Your day begins early in the morning, departing from M’hamid El Ghizlane, the last village at the gateway to the Sahara. You’ll board a comfortable 4×4 with your guide and take the road leading to the heart of the desert. The journey takes you through varied landscapes: arid plains, hamadas (stone deserts), palm oases, and small Saharan hamlets.

Discovery along the way
En route, you’ll visit typical sites such as the sacred oasis of Oum Laalag, known for its water in the middle of the desert, and the remains of ancient ksour (fortified villages). Depending on the weather, you’ll stop at a nomadic family’s home to share a traditional cup of tea and learn about their ancestral way of life.

Arrival at the Chegaga Dunes (Noon)
Around noon, you’ll reach the spectacular Chegaga Dunes, the highest in the Moroccan Sahara (up to 300 m). Here, the landscape changes completely: a sea of ​​golden sand as far as the eye can see. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at the foot of the dunes or a meal prepared in a nomadic bivouac.

Activities in the Dunes
After lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to take a camel ride for a traditional Saharan caravan experience. You can also climb to the top of the dunes to admire the exceptional panoramic view and experience the absolute silence of the desert.

Return to M’hamid (Afternoon)
In the late afternoon, after enjoying your last moments in this magical setting, you’ll hit the trail again to return to M’hamid El Ghizlane. Arrival is expected in the early evening, with unforgettable memories of this immersion in the Sahara.
