6 Days Trekking from Ouzoud Waterfalls to Aït Bouguemez Valley Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Ouzoud Waterfalls (1,000 m)
Arrival in Ouzoud, meeting with your guide and mule team. Explore the famous waterfalls, enjoy a short warm-up walk, and spot the wild Barbary macaques that live near the falls.
Overnight in a guesthouse near the falls.
Day 2: Ouzoud – Aït Taghia Village
After breakfast, begin your trek uphill through olive groves and red-earth hills. The trail passes small Berber hamlets and fields of wheat and barley. Reach Aït Taghia, a quiet mountain village surrounded by cliffs and greenery.
5–6 hours walking.
Camp or stay in local house.
Day 3: Aït Taghia – Aït Abbas
A scenic day through oak and juniper forests. Cross a small pass with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys before descending into Aït Abbas, known for its traditional architecture and terraced gardens.
6 hours trekking.

Day 4: Aït Abbas – Tizi n’Aït Imi Pass (2,900 m) – Ifrane n’Aït Bouguemez
Climb gradually towards the Tizi n’Aït Imi Pass, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the High Atlas. From here, you can see the entire Aït Bouguemez Valley stretching below. Descend to Ifrane n’Aït Bouguemez, a charming Berber village.
6–7 hours trekking.

Day 5: Exploration of Aït Bouguemez Valley
Spend the day exploring “La Vallée Heureuse.” Visit traditional villages, meet local families, and walk among fields of apple trees and walnut groves. Option to visit the dinosaur footprints at Ibakliwine or the Marabout of Sidi Moussa, a fortified granary with panoramic views.
3–4 hours easy walking.

Day 6: Aït Bouguemez – Azilal or Ouzoud – End of Trek
After breakfast, transfer by road to Azilal or back to Ouzoud, where the trek ends.
