Your adventure begins when you arrive in Mhamid El Ghizlane, a small town that marks the entrance to the Sahara Desert. After a warm welcome from your guide and the trekking team, you’ll be introduced to the desert’s essentials—your camel, the heart of desert transport. The trek starts with a gentle walk, allowing you to become familiar with the desert environment. You will make your way through the first stretches of sand dunes and pass through a series of small desert villages, offering you the opportunity to see how the Berber people live in such an unforgiving environment. As you venture deeper into the desert, the landscape becomes more vast and open. After a day’s trekking, you will set up camp for the night in the dunes, where you’ll enjoy the quiet beauty of the desert nightfall, surrounded by nothing but the endless stretch of sand.

On the second day, you will continue your trek deeper into the desert, moving away from the main routes and exploring some of the more remote desert terrain. Today’s journey will take you to Foum Zguid, a beautiful and peaceful oasis nestled in the heart of the desert. This oasis, with its cool water and palm trees, provides a welcome respite from the heat. You’ll have time to rest and take in the serene atmosphere, before enjoying a traditional Berber meal under the shade of the palm trees. As the day comes to a close, you’ll set up camp in this tranquil oasis, where the silence of the desert will be broken only by the sound of the wind.

On Day 3, your trek will take you to one of the Sahara’s most iconic destinations: the towering dunes of Erg Chegaga. These massive sand dunes, some reaching heights of over 300 meters, are among the largest in Morocco. The trek towards the dunes is both physically rewarding and visually stunning, with endless expanses of sand and dramatic desert scenery. Once you reach Erg Chegaga, you will experience a breathtaking sunset over the dunes, a perfect moment for reflection and photography. Afterward, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner and set up camp at the foot of the dunes, where you can spend the night in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 5 is dedicated to exploring the surrounding desert landscapes near Bivouac Les Nomades. You’ll trek further into the dunes and plateaus, experiencing the full variety of Sahara’s terrain—from rocky outcrops to vast, rolling sand dunes. The day will be an opportunity to connect with nature and witness the beauty of this untamed region. During the trek, you will also get the chance to learn about the desert’s wildlife and flora, and you may spot desert animals or encounter nomadic tribespeople who still follow traditional ways of life. The evening will bring another spectacular desert sunset, and you’ll return to Bivouac Les Nomades for another night under the stars.

On the final day of your trek, you’ll start your journey back to Mhamid El Ghizlane, the gateway town to the desert. This return trek will be a chance to reflect on your experiences as you make your way back through the dunes, plateaus, and oases that have become familiar over the past few days. Upon your arrival in Mhamid, the trek concludes, and you will have the opportunity to relax and reflect on your Sahara adventure.
